The start of 2025 has been marked by new and ongoing crises. The toppled Assad regime in Syria, the ongoing Israel/Gaza and Ukraine/Russia conflicts, the Los Angeles wildfires, the US presidential transition and inter-country tension, and a looming Canadian election can cause anxiety for young and old alike. It’s not an understatement to say that we face turbulent times.
It’s when we might feel like the world is out of control that we must return to our first priority: prayer (1 Tim 2:1-2). While prayer is our everyday privilege and responsibility, it’s in times like these we wonder: How specifically do we pray when nations conspire, when rulers rise and fall, and when creation groans? (Psalm 2 & 46).
The EFC invites you to gather with us to consider this pressing question for our day. Dr. David Guretzki, President/CEO and Resident Theologian of the EFC, will present biblical guidance on this theme, followed by corporate biblically informed and united prayer for our country, for the world, and for Christ’s church “in these turbulent times.”
You and your colleagues are invited to participate in a one-hour Zoom Presentation and Prayer gathering for all EFC affiliates on Thursday, February 20, 2025 (8 a.m. Pacific / 9 a.m. Mountain / 10 a.m. Central/ 11:00 a.m. Eastern / Noon Atlantic / 12:30 p.m. NL).
